Emergency Closing/Delayed Opening Information
In the case of a delayed opening or early morning announcement of a closing, Stuart is generally dependent on Princeton Regional Schools' schedule because of bus transportation.
In case of an early school closing, an announcement will be made on our web site, on our answering machine at (609) 921-2330, and on the following radio stations:
New Jersey |

WCTC (1450 AM) |

The Transportation Department of your local Board of Education notifies Stuart as to when they will be sending buses to pick up students in the event of an early school closing. The time of pick up will vary from district to district. Often buses arrive and there is no time to notify parents. Therefore, students will be released to their buses per the Emergency Closing Form completed by you as part of registration, which should be on file in your child’s school office. If an Emergency Closing form was not completed and is not on file, your child cannot be released on any transportation system in the event of an emergency closing.
PLEASE DO NOT CALL THE SCHOOL WITH INSTRUCTIONS ON THE DAY OF THE EMERGENCY CLOSING. It is impossible to handle the volume of calls. We ask you to be realistic in your expectations of what is possible for Stuart to do in the event of an early closing. Please look ahead and establish with your child a plan for early closings.
-
SPA class parents will not be calling to notify you.
-
A student may remain at school until picked up - no later than 3:00 p.m. as we are concerned with everyone's safety and do not want to delay departure for anyone.
-
If you have questions regarding this information, please check with your daughter's school office (Upper, Middle or Lower School) or talk with your SPA Class Representative.
